Advantages and Disadvantages of Winter Tyres
Winter tires are
manufactured with high-grade rubber that gives them a soft structure. All the
winter tires are specially developed compound which guarantees flexibility even
below +7 Degree. There are more flexible on the temperature below 7 degrees C.
The sidewall will have “S” on it and a snowflake symbol.
Benefits
of Winter Tyres
They grasp the road
properly and provide excellent grip on snowy and icy surfaces. If there is snow
on the road the tire tread grooves are filled with snow and grip the road. Have
extra deep tire treads which are capable of dispersing more water through the
tire and improving vehicle handling. They provide better safety on the road and
maintain flexibility. Also, these are cost-effective because they are harder in
wearing than the normal summer tires.
Disadvantages
of Winter Tyres
Winter tires only
perform well in cold conditions and summer tires perform better in warmer
conditions. They will not perform in their maximum capacity in summers or
hotter places and they will wear fast and cost you more.
Mostly winter tires
are exported to cold countries as they perform there excellently. Also, on the
other hand, some countries have laws related to only using snow tires in
winters.
